Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Accounting Intern to join our team. The intern will
have the opportunity to work closely with various clients, gaining valuable experience in accounting
practices and procedures. This position will involve assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks,
including posting transactions, reconciling accounts, and providing support for month-end
reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting with Financial Reporting: Help prepare financial statements, including balance
sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
2. Data Entry and Record-Keeping: Input financial data into accounting software or
spreadsheets and maintain accurate records of transactions.
3. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and
managing payments to vendors (accounts payable) and from customers (accounts
receivable).
4. Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements with company records to ensure
accuracy and identify discrepancies.
5. Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Reconcile balance sheet accounts with company records
to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
6. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in creating budgets and financial forecasts by gathering
data, analyzing trends, and preparing reports.
7. Tax Preparation Support: Help gather information and prepare documentation for tax filings,
including income tax returns and sales tax returns.
8. Financial Analysis: Assist in analyzing financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and
areas for improvement.
9. Research and Compliance: Conduct research on accounting regulations and standards to
ensure compliance with relevant laws and guidelines.
10. General Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the accounting
department, such as filing documents, answering phones, and responding to emails.
11. Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prior accounting or finance internship experience is a plus.
• Prior work experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online is preferred.
