Indira Burgos
My name is Indira Burgos and I am a fashion designer and fashion illustrator. I started my fashion path at 18yo, studying fashion design in Guadalajara, Mexico. Earned a diploma in beachwear at Italian school Istituto di Moda Burgo. Following that, I transferred to Austin Community College to earn an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Fashion Design.
A Mexican native, Austin based fashion illustrator, I have worked as a fashion live sketcher at events for over a year.
La Vita Salata is a bold collection that reflects life on the Italian coast, and the tropical environment, a relaxed life next to the sea but always in style.
Sebastian Cilauro
My name is Sebastian Cilauro, I am a Fashion Designer studying here at Austin Community College. Since the age of Seven years old, I have always had a passion for design and clothing. ACC has laid the foundation for the beginning of my fashion career. Once obtaining my Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Fashion Design, I plan to stay in Austin with the ambition to create stories one stitch at a time.
My first story titled “LoneStar GlamBoy’s” was inspired to challenge the heteronormative values Western culture typically influences. The concept takes core Western traits and applies the characteristics of gay culture. The final product expresses five collective looks that convey a bold and loud statement, something both gay and Western cultures share.
Sabina Momin
My name is Sabina Momin. I will be graduating with an AAS in Fashion Design in Spring 2024.
Before I joined the program, I had basic knowledge about sewing skills and techniques to do my projects. Now I’m confident that I have better knowledge and experience for my future projects.
My collection, Rain Lily, is all about bridal dresses and my interest in creating bridal dresses for brides to be, family and friends. Rain Lily bridal dresses incorporate intricate designs, colors, special fabrics, embroidery, beading, appliques, and other details.
Monica Padron Ochoa
Hello, my name is Monica Padron Ochoa. I have my AAS in Fashion Marketing, and I plan on graduating in May of 2024, with my AAS in Fashion Design.
I enjoy upcycling and finding secondhand fabrics for the garments that I create. I believe in creating trendy and fashion-forward clothing at an affordable price.
The inspiration for my collection came from a tea party. I envisioned what someone would wear to a tea party and decided to incorporate ruffles, lace, ribbons, and a floral print. My color palette was inspired by colors you would find in a bouquet of flowers.
Rachel O’Neal
My name is Rachel O’Neal and I am a fashion designer from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, now living in Austin. I started my path to fashion design in high school, though I wouldn’t realize I want to pursue it as a career until after several years in college trying (and failing) to become a veterinarian. After obtaining an AA in General Studies – Business, I moved to Austin and started towards a degree in fashion design.
My collection is called Fleurir, French for ‘flourish’ or ‘to bloom’. I was inspired by flowers, but wanted to bring something more magical to my clothing, so my pieces are meant to inspire a forest fairy type of feel.
Ruby Painter
As a designer, I use natural fabrics as often as possible. If synthetics are necessary, I use deadstock fabric or thrifted textiles.
My collection Petrichor, which is the smell after it rains, began as 25 different nature inspired sketches. Once they were finalized into the final five looks, a narrative based on the sky presented itself.
Birds are flying about and a storm rolls in. As the rain stops, a rainbow appears over the blue sky. Dusk settles in and the night sky emerges.
Lyn Weaver
My name is Lyn Weaver and I am a Fashion Designer, Cosplayer and Propmaker from Austin, TX. I have been sewing for over 10yrs and cosplaying and making costumes since 2012. I fell in love with sewing and cosplaying ever since I made my first costume in 2012. I love being able to become a new character and to add my own details and spins on a classic character.
My Collection this year is called Elemental Resonance and I drew a lot of Inspiration from my Asian Heritage. I am Chinese and also love Japanese culture and video games. This is where my collection’s inspiration comes from.
